Hylu is a sound artist, composer and music producer of mixed heritage (Ethiopian and English).

He is based in Addis Abeba, having relocated from London in 2025. His instrumental, bass-driven electronic music draws on dub, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop and jungle - with space to breathe and low-end built for sound system.

Hylu's forthcoming release, Nefsoch (ነፍሶች), is Part One of Debol Anbessa (ደቦል አንበሳ) - a zine, vinyl & video project documenting his life and work in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.
